Protect Los Padres National Forest from an extreme plan to log trees and clear vegetation.

The Forest Service has announced a plan to log large trees and clear native chaparral across 235,000 acres of Los Padres National Forest.

This project represents the largest industrial-scale land manipulation in our region, and one of the largest projects proposed for any national forest in the country.

A better way

Evidence shows that the best way to protect our communities from wildfire is to focus from the home outward. Programs that encourage structural retrofits and defensible space immediately around structures provide the most effective way to reduce wildfire risk.
